Taylor’s Do it Center, formally known as Fuel, Feed and Building Supplies was established in 1927. Decades later, the original coal yard and small warehouse became one of the Tidewater region’s biggest home-grown success stories.
The first company expansion was led by the sons of the founders in 1965, one of whom was Dawson Taylor. As one of the area’s oldest retail businesses, the company now operates 12 convenient locations in Chesapeake, Gloucester Point, Norfolk, Poquoson, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, and Moyock, North Carolina with products tailored to each locality.
