In 1962, Carl Gillman and his brother Leo (Dick) founded Gillman Brother’s Lumber to service the community of Brookville and his own construction company. That small lumber yard ignited an interest in retail and building materials in one of Carl’s 10 children – Charlie. Charlie continued to work in custom home building for many years before deciding to focus solely on retail and serving other contractors. Carl passed in 2015 and his passion for excellence in retailing and serving the community lives on with his son and grandsons.
