ACE HDW & GARDEN CNTR-GRAND IS

Since its establishment in 1936, Ace Hardware & Garden Center has been run by a family. On Fourth Street, Grand Island Hardware Company was established in that year by George W. Jelinek. Following its 1960 merger with Ace Hardware, the company was incorporated. The company relocated to its present location at 3rd and Broadwell in 1963 and increased its space to 30,000 sq ft in 1979. The Fremont store was purchased in 1986, followed by the Columbus store in 1992, and the Kearney store in 1998. All of these transactions were overseen by President Donald L. Jelinek. The fifth store in Elkhorn was inaugurated in 2013. Currently, the third generation of Randy, Ron Jelinek, and Cheryl Hansen continues the history of friendly service and providing a wide range of products and services with the support of an accomplished workforce.
