BLALOCK’S home center began life as a car wash; out of two walls of that car wash Wayne Blalock built his store in 1981. The store only had 2 employees, Wayne and his wife Mary Lou. He believed that he could conduct a fair minded business by selling products to consumers at reasonable prices, and it worked. The store has grown from 2 employees and 2800 sq ft to 18 employees and 11,000 sq ft yet it still retains Wayne’s founding principles of selling quality products at reasonable prices with a personal touch.
