Hillsville
The Hillsville location of Carroll County Coop began in the early 1950’s, and was operated as a Southern State Private Agency. The present location was built in 1956. Southern States Carroll County Coop became part of the Southern States Cooperative System in 1963.
Galax
The Galax location of Carroll County Coop (known as Galax Farmers’ Coop) began in the 1930’s. Galax Farmers’ Coop joined the Southern States Cooperative System in 1953.
Southern States Carroll County Coop
The present Carroll County Coop was formed in 2012 when Southern States Carroll County Coop and Southern States Galax Coop merged.
