The business was started in 1974 By Robert “George” Strickland Jr. The Strickland family has been in the retail sector for over 6 generations. George had a vision of continuing that tradition by starting a business to serve the community in the agriculture sector. It didn’t take George long to see that there was a great need for much more in the area and the business quickly adapted and grew. Today Robert George “Tripp” Strickland lll has the reins and the business is continually adapting to the needs of the community. If you stop by the store on any given day George will more than likely be in there assisting customers meet their needs. The business has grown over the years into what Madison County Ace Hardware is today. A pillar in the community.
“Granddaddy always said, ‘“even if they come to buy a piece of chewing gum, imagine how many people they passed by.” We continue to live by this motto today. Granddaddy made it a point to give all the children that came into the store a piece of gum. Many generations of families continued to frequent our stores and received that same service.”
