Round Top Mercantile was founded in 1984 by Betty & Ronny Sacks to serve the Round Top community with its grocery, gasoline and hardware needs. A constant increase in business allowed the store to be expanded in 1986, to house additional lines of hardware. In 1992, it was expanded again to furnish a complete line of hardware and larger selection of groceries. In 1998, a feed room was added to accommodate Nutrena feeds. In 2011, Round Top Mercantile RTMC became the authorized STIHL dealership to serve Round Top and the surrounding area.
In 2014 Michael and Jackie took over the reigns and expanded the store to a total 20,000 sqft, and is now a one-stop shop for the community. With a full line grocery including a deli featuring Boar’s Head Products, fresh made to order sandwiches, and deli trays, fresh produce delivered weekly, your daily needs for dairy and fresh meat, and SHELL gasoline and diesel with 24 hour pay at the pump available.
“The Mercantile” also offers a full line of hardware, farm and ranch supplies including Stay-Tuff fence products, lawn and garden needs, Nutrena & Ful-O-Pep feeds and Crystalyx Supplement tubs. With the latest expansion have added full Outdoor Lawn and Garden Power equipment department featuring brands such as STIHL, handheld equipment, BOB-CAT, GRASSHOPPER, as well as parts and service. We have certified technicians on duty to service and repair any brand of small engine and lawn equipment.
