Fosters Ace Hardware

Foster’s Hardware was first established in 1883 as M.R. Manhard Co. J.C. Foster purchased the store from his uncle, M.R. Manhard, and operated it until his death in 1923. With the passing of his father, Sidney Foster took over management of the hardware to support his mother and siblings. Sid operated the store until his son James took over management in 1956. James operated the store as Foster’s True Value Hardware until 2002. At that time, Patty, Jim and Tom Foster purchased the store from their father and joined the Ace Hardware family.
